  • 2 thawed readymade puff pastry sheets
  • 5 oz gruyere, in ⅓ inch thick slices
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 ½ lbs asparagus
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 minced clove garlic
  • ½ lb red bell pepper, in thin strips
  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Snap the woody bottoms off the asparagus and discard them.
  3. Toss the asparagus with the salt, pepper, and olive oil and spread it over a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Bake for about 15 minutes or until it begins to brown.
